About Dan
Dan Hershfield is a playwright and aspiring TV writer. He has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing and Theatre from UBC, where he was the recipient of the CBC Jim Burt Prize for Film. His best known theatrical work to date is the short play Courting, which was published by Anvil Press and has been produced across Canada and studied at several colleges.
Outside the world of theatre, he has written for CBC Radio’s Definitely Not the Opera and Content Factory, as well as for the Gemini-nominated Road Hockey Rumble. He is also the writer of several popular comedic web shorts, many of which can be seen on the Video page of this site. He is also a well-traveled improviser who, in addition to performing in many shows for Bad Dog Theatre over the years, has toured for Vancouver TheatreSports and Second City @ Sea and was also part of Second City’s development program, The Bench.
